✨ NewGold-making & auction house👁 Free previewIntermediate

Offer: a daily Discord report of the most profitable crafts, flips and gathering routes on the player's realm, built from Blizzard's official hourly auction house data

Target customer: World of Warcraft players who craft or trade to earn gold for mounts, gear or the WoW Token

Where to find customers: gold-making Discord servers and subreddits (r/woweconomy), WoW YouTubers and Twitch streamers, guild partnerships

Tools needed: Blizzard Battle.net Game Data API (auction house and commodities) + database + LLM + Discord bot

Recommended price for your customers: €5/month per player, €20/month for a guild's Discord server

What it is

A gold-making coach for World of Warcraft. Blizzard publishes the full auction house of every realm once an hour through its free official Battle.net API (an API is a connection that lets software read data automatically), plus region-wide prices for 'commodities' such as herbs, ore and cloth. The agent stores these snapshots, works out crafting margins (cost of materials vs. selling price of the crafted item), spots items listed far below their usual price, and sends each subscriber a short daily plan for their realm and professions. It never plays or posts auctions for the player: everything is done by the player in game, which keeps accounts safe.

Who pays & why

Players who want gold to buy the WoW Token (which pays their game subscription), mounts or raid gear, but do not want to spend evenings in spreadsheets or learn complex add-ons. They pay €5/month because one good tip usually earns more gold than the subscription is worth. Guild leaders pay €20/month to give the report to all members, which helps fund raid consumables.

How it works

  1. The player links their Battle.net account (read-only) or types their realm, faction, professions and the gold they can invest.
  2. Every hour the agent downloads auction house and commodity prices from the official Blizzard API and saves them in a database to build 14-day price histories.
  3. For each recipe the player knows, it calculates the material cost, the usual selling price, the auction house cut and how many units sell per day.
  4. It flags deals: items listed 40% or more below their 14-day median, and materials whose price usually rises before raid nights or a new patch.
  5. The LLM writes a 5-line daily plan in plain language (what to craft, buy and sell, and at what price) and posts it in the player's Discord DMs or the guild channel.
  6. Players can reply in Discord ('is it worth levelling Alchemy?') and the bot answers using the price data.

Concrete example

On a European realm, the bot tells a player with Alchemy and Herbalism: 'Tonight craft 20 flasks: materials cost about 410 gold each, they sell around 690 gold and roughly 60 sell per day. Buy the 3 stacks of Mycobloom listed at 18 gold (14-day median: 31). Sell before Wednesday's weekly reset.' After a week the player reports +38,000 gold from about 20 minutes a day.

📊 Key metrics

Revenue potential: High (est. €2000–6000/month)Running costs (tools & APIs): €25–470/monthAutomation difficulty: 2/5 EasyHuman time: 2 h/weekIntegration Requirements: 7Setup time: ~53 h (≈6 weeks part-time)Estimated payback (return on investment): ~3 months
How we estimate this

Start-up cost = idea price (€39) + one month of running costs while you build (€248). Monthly profit = low end of the revenue estimate (€2000) minus average running costs. We assume 2 months of ramp-up at half revenue and add your setup time. Your own working hours are not counted. It is an estimate, not a promise.

⚙️ Automation difficulty: 2/5 – Easy

Why this automation score

  • Score 2/5 – Easy. The price data comes from an official, free API in a clean format, and the margin maths is simple. The harder parts: handling patch days when prices jump, and keeping recipe data up to date with each expansion. A human checks the recipe database after each patch and moderates the Discord. In-game actions are deliberately not automated, because bots break Blizzard's rules.
Automation scale (1–5)
  1. 1 – Very easy: no-code tools, a few hours to set up.
  2. 2 – Easy: standard tools, a few days, little monitoring.
  3. 3 – Moderate: several integrations, 1–3 weeks, regular checks.
  4. 4 – Hard: complex data or sensitive output, a coding agent or developer recommended.
  5. 5 – Very hard: advanced engineering, strict quality and compliance control.

💰 Revenue potential: 4/5 – High

Market interest 3/5
Huge audience in gaming and streaming; NFT interest is cyclical.

Money flow 3/5
Players spend, but on small tickets; NFT revenue is volatile.

Active communities 5/5
Extremely active communities on Discord, Twitch and Reddit.

⏱ Maintenance time: 2 h/week

What the human does:

  • Validates the editorial line and approves sensitive content.
  • Reviews a sample of AI outputs and corrects the prompts when quality drifts.
  • Moderates the community and resolves conflicts.
